Rodeo Announcer
PRCA Rodeo Announcer Kyle Shobe is a born and raised Montana cowboy and is no stranger to the rodeo sport, or working behind the microphone. As a youngster, Kyle became familiar with the mike as a singer and auctioneer, calling square dances and selling farm and ranch equipment and antiques with his father. He began announcing team ropings and high school rodeos at age 13 and joined the PRCA in 2003. He is a graduate of the University of Wyoming in Laramie, with a degree in Agricultural Business and a minor in Music. Kyle and his family (wife, Jodie; son, McKay; daughter, Hadlee), reside in Lewistown, Montana, where he works as an auctioneer and real estate agent with the family operated United Country - Shobe Auction & Realty, also selling weekly at Lewistown Livestock Auction. In June, 2010, Kyle was named World Champion Livestock Auctioneer by the Livestock Marketing Association. He is also a talented singer, songwriter, and guitar player and performs frequently throughout Montana and Wyoming with his band Kyle Shobe and the Walk 'em Boys. Kyle’s announcing experience includes Cheyenne Frontier Days, where he has worked as the rodeo’s Track Announcer since 2007; Roughrider Days Rodeo in Dickinson, North Dakota for the past seven years; Dillon Jaycees Rodeo during ‘Montana’s Biggest Weekend’ celebration in Dillon, Montana; Killdeer Mountain Roundup over the 4th of July in Killdeer, North Dakota; North Dakota Winter Show in Valley City; Dacotah Stampede in Aberdeen, South Dakota; Riverboat Days in Yankton, South Dakota and many others throughout the Rocky Mountain Northwest. To rodeo contestants and fans, Kyle brings enthusiasm, experience, and a thorough knowledge of the sport that he expresses through a true love for the game. His ability to connect with and inspire fans from the front row to the rafters is aided by his down-to-earth persona, his positive “go-get-’em” attitude, and the wide range of talents that he brings to the table every time he picks up a microphone.
